Art workshops at Mulberry Olivet Boys and Girls Club

Art Workshops

ASTEP member Robin Vacek has been leading workshops with Mulberry's Olivet Boys and Girls Club in Reading, PA this summer. These art workshops were designed to explore the ways in which basic art supplies can be used to make art. Some activities and projects included a listen and draw activity in which songs were played and visual responses to the songs were drawn, a self-portrait exploration which was further developed into an exaggerated and abstract self-portrait, and an activity that explored the ways in which pictures in various media, like magazines, influence and inspire artwork.

SHREK THE MUSICAL

Although ASTEP is not producing SHREK THE MUSICAL, we are proud of the Olivet Boys and Girls Club for providing such a wonderful theatrical opportunity to its community! Our ASTEP President, Alexis Jenofsky, was hired to direct the production, and two of our other ASTEP members, Billy Balmer, and Sara Baum volunteered to work on set construction and headshots for the show!
